    biography (245 words)
Born June 16, 1976, in California, composer and sound artist Christi Denton has worked in a variety of different styles, ranging from traditional ensemble music to experimental electronic music to found object installations and everything in between. Christi graduated from Mills College in 2000 with a degree in Music Composition and obtained a graduate certificate from the Centre for Composition of Music Iannis Xenakis in 2004. She's worked on several installations in San Francisco including building giant wind chimes in the Castro district, and amplifying exhibits in the Exploratorium. Her arrangement of Lou Harrison's King David' Lament for Jonathan was played at Other Minds 9 (March 2003) by the SF Opera Singers and SF Gay Men's Chorus. In April 2003, she was one of the featured composers in the Composer Spotlight at Jack Straw Productions in Seattle. In June of 2003, she was one of the composers in the Chapel of the Chimes concert on Oakland CA. She's spent the past two years living and working in Europe, Asia, and the US, but is currently splitting her time between her homes in Portland Oregon and Paris France and working on a soundtrack to the silent movie Aelita, Queen of Mars.
